Eclipse Slimline Roll-Out Awning

Darche’s Eclipse Slimline roll-out awning provides simple, economical shade and cover for your 4WD camping setup. Offering up to 67 sq-ft of cover, Eclipse Slimline awnings deploy 2.5m (8.2′) from the side of your vehicle and come in 2.0m (6.4′)  and 2.5m (8.2′) lengths.

Its a breeze to set up – just release the aluminum poles stored away in the twin-channel rafters and use the twist lock feature to adjust to your preferred height. The sides of the awning are then held tight by trigger-lock poles which the awning also attaches to with velcro strips. If you’re after some extra protection from the weather, you can always add on an extension wall using the built-in sail track slots (sold separately).

The awning is made from heavy-duty, mildew-resistant 320gsm ripstop polycotton canvas, blocking out direct sunlight and harmful UV rays, and has an outstanding PU 2000mm water rating to keep you dry on those rainy days. The uniquely designed pivoting hinges are made to be tough and crack resistant while still providing flexibility to reduce overall component stress. The awning packs away into a heavy-duty 1000D PVC transit cover featuring a weather-resistant zip to keep out road grime and dust while you’re out on the road.

The included mounting brackets suit most commercially available flat roof rack or steel basket set ups. Make sure to check the weight rating and suitability of your roof rack and vehicle with appropriate manufacturers prior to purchase. Most OEM roof racks are not compatible with the mounting system. We recommend professional installation through one of our approved installation partners.

2.0 x 2.5m: Designed for vehicles with shorter roof racks, this version is 2.0m (78″) long and is compatible with all Ezy Exensions, which attach to the horizontal poles on either side of the awning, including an available 2.0m Front Extension that slips in to the sail track and provides protection from wind and rain.

2.5 x 2.5m: Suitable for longer roof racks, this square version is 2.5m (99″) long and is also compatible with the same Ezy Extensions including a unique 2.5m Front Extension. The 2.5 x 2.5m awning is also compatible with the Eclipse 2525 Annex, giving you a fully weather and mosquito-proof room to sleep, prepare meals, or just relax in on a rainy day.

SAFETY NOTE: Ensure that your awning is anchored with all legs, straps, guy ropes and pegs at all times when in use. Damage to the awning or your vehicle may occur if the awning is not fully supported. We also do not recommend using the awning in heavy snow conditions due to the weight build-up that snow can cause. Weather damage is not covered under the standard warranty, but we do stock various replacement parts that are available for purchase. Awning should be mounted to your rack within 10″ of each end. Offset or narrow mounting setups are not recommended and may cause damage to the awning. If in doubt, get in touch with us before purchase!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

In 1991, Darche revolutionised the traditional swag market with the introduction of the Dome style swag. DARREN O’DWYER, the founder of Darche with his wife CHERYL (DAR-CHE), embarked on an eastern Australia journey. Wanting a shelter arrangement that was quick, practical and easy to stow, Darren used his imagination and created a canvas shell with fibreglass poles and the dome style swag was born. Darren realised he required a suitable and purpose-built factory arrangement in order to suffice demand. Using Australian supply chain partners, Darche became the leading swag and canvas converter in Australia

Today Darche is proudly owned by the Charles Parsons Group who have been actively involved for over 20 years in supplying textile and trim componentry to Darche. Charles Parsons are the largest textile wholesaler in the Southern Hemisphere with offices in every capital city of Australia, including offices in Fiji, Auckland and Shanghai. The day-to-day running of Darche occurs in a warehouse facility based in Thomastown, Victoria with a site area of more than 40,000m2. Darche is overseen by experienced textile product developers, business strategists and passionate staff who are keen outdoor enthusiasts with sound knowledge and experience to match.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

Darche’s growth and shortage of experienced canvas converters and local machinists, has seen Darche establish reputable off shore assembly and supply chain partners. Operating from four major plants purposely selected and audited by Darche. Machinists, assemblers, finishers, tool makers and QA/QC supervisors are included in our required workforce of over 180 people over our four plants. It is vitally important to note Darche do not use Trading Houses or vertical arrangements off shore to source product. We at Darche develop all product prototypes in Australia and are involved from concept through to market release. Utilising Charles Parsons accredited laboratories and leading processes, all developments are then vigorously tested at the Thomastown facility and again in real life situations by developers.
