Gone are the days of wedge-style tents with their limited foot space and cramped interior. HighRize gives you best-in-class interior space while maintaining a simple footprint on your vehicle.

The Ridgeback HighRize is our biggest hardshell roof top tent, but it still packs down slimmer than most soft shell tents. The high-spec build gives you unparalleled quality, with German-engineered Stabilus struts that provide effortless set up and pack down. High-strength aluminum channel sections with welded corners also provide the toughest protection from trail damage and mishaps.

The interior is full of innovation too, with six windows giving you almost panoramic views. The plush 55mm memory foam mattress comes with a removable cover and water-resistant base plus a 10mm high rebound anti-condensation mat that will give you the most comfortable night’s sleep you’ve ever had on the road. The interior also features internal USB-powered dimmable LED lighting and luxurious soft headlining. The sides and headliner also have plenty of storage pockets and netting for your devices, accessories, and clothes.

There is even more space inside the Ridgeback HighRize to keep you cool and comfortable. The removable fly provides shelter from the sun and rain and there are three full size entry points where the ladder can be mounted. The entire tent body is removable for washing or repair, and the tent can even be used in single-action wedge mode when there’s snow buildup or extreme weather expected.

The tent body is made from premium water resistant 280gsm Ripstop Polycotton Canvas and features an impressive 3000mm waterhead rating, high profile automotive rubber weather seals, internal seam sealing and a removable fly that will keep you dry in extended rainy conditions. With roof rails and awning bracket kits available (sold separately), the Ridgeback HighRize delivers everything you’ll ever need in a hard shell roof top tent and more. The included mounting rails suit most commercially available flat roof rack or roof rail systems.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

In 1991, Darche revolutionised the traditional swag market with the introduction of the Dome style swag. DARREN O’DWYER, the founder of Darche with his wife CHERYL (DAR-CHE), embarked on an eastern Australia journey. Wanting a shelter arrangement that was quick, practical and easy to stow, Darren used his imagination and created a canvas shell with fibreglass poles and the dome style swag was born. Darren realised he required a suitable and purpose-built factory arrangement in order to suffice demand. Using Australian supply chain partners, Darche became the leading swag and canvas converter in Australia

Today Darche is proudly owned by the Charles Parsons Group who have been actively involved for over 20 years in supplying textile and trim componentry to Darche. Charles Parsons are the largest textile wholesaler in the Southern Hemisphere with offices in every capital city of Australia, including offices in Fiji, Auckland and Shanghai. The day-to-day running of Darche occurs in a warehouse facility based in Thomastown, Victoria with a site area of more than 40,000m2. Darche is overseen by experienced textile product developers, business strategists and passionate staff who are keen outdoor enthusiasts with sound knowledge and experience to match.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

Darche’s growth and shortage of experienced canvas converters and local machinists, has seen Darche establish reputable off shore assembly and supply chain partners. Operating from four major plants purposely selected and audited by Darche. Machinists, assemblers, finishers, tool makers and QA/QC supervisors are included in our required workforce of over 180 people over our four plants. It is vitally important to note Darche do not use Trading Houses or vertical arrangements off shore to source product. We at Darche develop all product prototypes in Australia and are involved from concept through to market release. Utilising Charles Parsons accredited laboratories and leading processes, all developments are then vigorously tested at the Thomastown facility and again in real life situations by developers.
